What is Golden Light?

The best time to photograph is during the ‘Golden Hour.’ The Golden Hour is about an hour after sunrise and an hour before sunset. It is the perfect lighting because you don’t squint when looking in the direction of the sun and it casts a beautiful warm glow over you.

A Wedding Celebrant I Highly Recommend

Getting married? Looking for a wedding celebrant? There is lots of choice so it can be a little hard to know who to go with. However there is one wedding celebrant I highly recommend. Not just because we work together on 50% of our weddings and we are a great team but also because of her wedding ceremonies and down to earth nature.

Top 3 Newborn Photography Poses

Newborn photography is important to capture within the first 2 weeks of life (up to 4 weeks at most). This is because newborns are more sleepy in the first few weeks of life and therefore easier to photograph and pose. There are 3 essential poses you must capture in newborn photography.

What To Bring For Your Baby and Child Photography Session

Like newborn photography, baby photos and kids photos are equally as important. Children change dramatically from year to year and it’s important to capture this time in your child’s life to create permanent memories for the future. Children can sometimes be a little tricky to photograph, depending on their age. Toddlers like to move around and tend to have a short attention span so it’s important to bring items with you to the child photography session. Some items you could bring are your child’s favourite toys, particularly a noisy one so that you can catch your child’s attention during the photo session, a comforter such as a blanket or dummy. Ask your photographer if they have a little area for the children to play during the baby photos’ session and if they have some toys. This will help to put your mind at ease that there is also something that keep your child entertained in between photos.

What Maternity Photography Packages Are Best?

So you’re thinking of have a maternity photography session? Firstly congratulations on this special time. It’s beautiful to capture either your growing bump or the end stage. There are lots of choices when it comes to maternity photography packages. Many people still want digital maternity photos but the trend these days is to opt in for a product that has been professionally produced by their maternity photographer. Generally my clients either don’t have time or never get around to printing their images. Or if they do print their maternity photos they are not from professional photography labs. I have written the importance of printing at a professional photography lab here. The easiest and most popular option is to purchase a product such as a canvas or album so that you have a complete professional maternity photography package that is high quality. Some maternity photographers have packages already set and/or a-la-carte options to choose from. The average spend of maternity photography is between $800-$2000 on products like an album to show a maternity timeline of mum’s to be over the course of their pregnancy or to show a variety of maternity images taken on one day in one maternity photography session. In summary, physical products are always best to purchase because it cuts down your workload and you know you are going to get top quality maternity photography products when purchased through your maternity photographer. Remember that memories fade….but photographs last a lifetime!

Top 3 Wedding Venue Locations in the Dandenong Ranges

There are so many choices when it comes to wedding venues. The Dandenong Ranges boasts some of the most exquisite wedding venues in Victoria. My personal top 3 picks for wedding venues in the Dandenong Ranges are as follows: - Wedding Venue 1: Nathania Springs Receptions have both an indoor chapel and an outdoor garden gazebo. The gardens are lush and gorgeous with plenty of opportunities to capture gorgeous photos in the surrounding areas. This wedding venue can hold between 70-180 guests so has a great scope for any type of wedding. - Wedding Venue 2: Lyrebird Falls also has both an indoor chapel and a gorgeous outdoor gazebo. With a red carpet leading to the alter and surrounded by lush greenery….it doesn’t get much better than this. Wedding photos are stunning in any part of this wedding venue. The little bridge surrounded by ferns is the signature wedding photo for this wedding. Accommodating 70-115 guests to cater for most weddings. - Wedding Venue 3: Marybrooke Manor has perfectly manicured gardens with separate areas to take photos whether it be in front of the fountain, gates at night or by the famous oak tree, there are so many opportunities to capture the connections between you and your partner. Holding up to 100 guests, it is great for your average sized weddings.
