What family photography packages are best?
Most people these days want family photography packages that include digital copies of all of the photos. However there are so many other options to create permanent high quality products that can be passed down to generations.
Some photographers have an a-la-carte option and others have packages that are already made up.
So what should you look out for in your family photography package? Although digital copies of photos are great because you get all the photos and then you can print them yourself, do you really think you will take the time to print them out? If you do take the time to print them out will you print them at a professional print lab? Most likely not. The printing quality is very important because it determines how long the photos will last (many, many years, much longer than your standard officeworks photos), the colour of the photos and sometimes even the resolution. Some clients have asked me why their photos look different from computer to print. That is because of the quality of the photo printer and it’s ability to print the exact colours. The colour and resolution as well as the quality of photo is much higher using a professional photography lab and it will last a lot longer. In the long run it is best to print with the quality labs than not.
There are 2 products I highly recommend rather than digital copies of photos on USB.
- Canvas of a photo or collage of a few photos
Not only is it easier for you to get the professional photographer to produce a gorgeous family photo collage for you but they will also produce a high quality product that can be displayed on your wall for a permanent reminder of this time in your life. Albums are generally more expensive than canases but are also well worth the expense. They are great for comparing family photography sessions from year to year and seeing the change in your family.
Both of these products are something you are going to keep and have for generations to come. Physical products are always best to buy or have in a family photography package because firstly you don’t have to do any leg work like you would if you bought the images on USB and secondly you have something that you can display straight away. Remember that memories fade….but photographs last a lifetime!
